Alfredo Voloschin Joins Hematology and Medical Oncology at Emory Winship
Alfredo Voloschin, MD, joins Emory University School of Medicine and the Emory Winship Cancer Institute as an assistant professor in the department of hematology and medical oncology. He comes to Emory from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta.
Voloschin's areas of clinical and research interests include treatment of malignant tumors of the nervous system, neurologic complications of cancer therapy, molecular predictors in oligodendroglial tumors, and primary central nervous system lymphoma.
Voloschin earned his medical degree and conducted a residency in neurology at Universidad Nacional de Buenos Aires in Argentina. He conducted a fellowship and a clinical research fellowship, both in neuro oncology, at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School.
"We are delighted that Dr. Voloschin has joined our faculty," says Fadlo Khuri, MD, chair of hematology and medical oncology. "He brings exceptional talent in neuro oncology to Atlanta and to Emory. He is very focused on patient care and his background in medical oncology will add a critical dimension to our multidisciplinary brain tumor working group."
