Biography

Heather Dexter serves as President of the Regional Hospital Division of Emory Healthcare, which includes Emory Saint Joseph’s Hospital, Emory Johns Creek Hospital, Emory Decatur Hospital, Emory Hillandale Hospital and Emory Long-Term Acute Care Hospital. She also serves as the executive sponsor of Heart and Vascular Services as well as Imaging Services for Emory Healthcare.

Heather provides strategic, coordinated oversight for the hospitals within the division, as well as Heart and Vascular Services and Imaging Services, focusing on aligning care and services while sharing best practices across facilities. Before assuming her current role, she held a variety of positions at Emory Saint Joseph’s including Chief Executive Officer, Vice President of Surgical Services, Vice President of Business Development and Strategic Planning and Chief Operating Officer.

Heather received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Vanderbilt University, a Master’s of Science in Healthcare Administration and a Master’s of Business Administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She completed an intensive executive course in Managing Healthcare Delivery at Harvard Business School, is a Fellow of the Woodruff Leadership Academy and a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives. Heather currently serves on the Board of Trustees for Pace Academy and Cristo Rey Atlanta and is a member of the American Hospital Association Regional Policy Board in Region 4.
