Collaborate, Innovate, Serve

We welcome your feedbackWhen I joined the Woodruff Health Sciences Center in February 2016, I was eager and proud to join an outstanding institution with the talent and drive to redefine the practice of medicine, the education of health professionals, advances in basic and clinical science, and the national dialogue around how we approach health and healing. Through the work of an extraordinary team, the WHSC continues to lead in ways that are both profound and transformative.

In 2017, we initiated a strategic planning process that would result in our roadmap for achievement over the next several years. Approximately 250 individuals from throughout the Health Sciences have been involved in the development of this transformative plan. Its goals and strategies support and align with those of the Emory University strategic plan and will support the realization of our shared vision for the future of the institution.

I invite you to watch this video discussing the results of efforts of those who helped develop the WHSC plan--our mission, vision, and values as well as our five strategic goals and the strategies we'll take to achieve them.

In the weeks and months ahead, I look forward to working with you as, together, we bring this plan to fruition. We are asking for your ideas and aspirations, questions and suggestions for Emory and how our work can serve humanity through education, discovery, and care.

As I have said many times, we have special opportunities and strengths here that are unavailable elsewhere, by virtue of the fact that we come together under one organizational structure. I am optimistic and excited about the road ahead.
