Healthcare Week 2021 offers us the perfect opportunity to acknowledge the lifesaving work of our dedicated health care teams. In the midst of one of the most challenging times in the history of modern medicine, I have had the privilege of seeing every day our team’s expertise and ingenuity and their limitless well of compassion – particularly in their tireless efforts in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
These consummate professionals provide help and hope to our patients and their loved ones when it is most deeply needed. As they have demonstrated time and again over this most unprecedented year, they are an impeccably trained, well synchronized, and deeply compassionate group of people. Every day, the most critically ill patients in the region turn to Emory Healthcare for help, and every day our teams provide them the world-class care they need to regain their health.
To our all of health care teams – the physicians and nurses, technicians and allied health professionals, administrators, front-office and back-office staff, maintenance crews, and all others who make our health system what it is – please accept my heartfelt gratitude for all that you have done for Emory Healthcare and for all that you continue to do. You give me so many reasons for pride and humility, and I know I speak for all our colleagues across the Woodruff Health Sciences Center when I say that we deeply appreciate you.
