Emory Johns Creek Hospital will open on February 5, 2007 in Duluth, Georgia in the new city of Johns Creek. Emory Johns Creek Hospital is a 110-bed, all private room hospital owned by EHCA, LLC, a joint venture between Emory Healthcare and HCA. "We are proud to be part of the collaboration of these two giants in the healthcare industry, each with a rich tradition of service and excellence," said Tom Gilbert, President and CEO of Emory Johns Creek Hospital.
The 282,000 sq. ft. hospital is situated on 68 acres in the heart of the newly incorporated city of Johns Creek. The hospital will employ approximately 600 staff and an estimated medical staff of 400. Emory physicians will staff the hospital based services including Emergency, Anesthesia, Radiology, Pathology and Hospitalists. Community based physicians will comprise the majority of the medical staff, including specialists in cardiology, gastroenterology, orthopaedics, oncology, obstetrics and gynecology, nephrology and neurology.
The Emory Johns Creek Physicians Plaza, a 131,000 sq. ft. medical office building, is adjacent to the hospital and offers patients and their physicians easy access to parking and to the hospital.
The opening of Emory Johns Creek Hospital is the culmination of an eight year process to bring healthcare to the North Fulton, southern Forsyth, and western Gwinnett counties. The community of Johns Creek has continued to grow significantly since the hospital broke ground two years ago. With a population of approximately 65,000, Johns Creek is the tenth largest city in Georgia. "The people of Johns Creek have been supportive and very welcoming. There's a great deal of excitement about the caliber of healthcare that Emory Johns Creek will bring to the area," said Tom Gilbert, President and CEO of the hospital. We are confident that patients and families will find the hospital to be everything they would expect from a healthcare facility and more. Truly state-of-the-art equipment and highly trained staff --- all the things the people of the area deserve to have nearby," he added.
Emory Johns Creek Hospital will be known for its state-of-the-art technology in a luxurious, hotel-like setting. Services will include emergency/urgent care, state-of-the-art all digital imaging including a 64 slice CT, the Birth Center with level III neonatal intensive care unit, 24-hour anesthesiologists, intensive care, advanced cardiac care, and women's services. Emory Johns Creek Hospital will be home to the Atlanta Bariatric Center, designated a Center of Excellence by the American Society of Bariatric Surgeons.
