Emory Crawford Long Hospital commemorates 100 years of caring for Atlanta this year with a huge outdoor celebration and picnic for its employees, physicians and their immediate families on Saturday, May 3. The event is the first of many celebrations going on throughout the year to mark the hospital's rich history in Atlanta.
Established in 1908, the hospital began as a 26-bed hospital near present-day Turner Field. Today - 100 years later - Emory Crawford Long Hospital is a 511-bed community-based, acute care teaching facility, admitting nearly 23,000 patients in 2007 and employing more than 2700 staff.
