Emory University Hospital Receives Client Choice Awards for Transplant Services
The United Resource Network (URN) Transplant Network has awarded Emory University Hospital's Solid Organ and Bone Marrow Transplant Services the 2007 Client Choice Award.

Emory was honored in two out of three categories - Best Communication and Ease of Administration. This award is presented each year to a URN "Transplant Center of Excellence" after URN surveys 4,000 of their network clients on issues including:

  • How well issues are communicated to patients, families, URN and their clients
  • The ease in which administrative issues are conducted to reduce the burden on patient and family

"This award truly acknowledges all of the hard work that our transplant teams have put into implementing this contract and maintaining a superior level of customer service with URN and its members," says Robert Bachman, Emory University Hospital chief operating officer. "It has taken the dedication of many Emory representatives, who all deserve acknowledgement for their part in easing the process for our transplant patients."

According to Alison Anderson, Emory Healthcare managed care associate, Emory Healthcare has been participating in the URN Transplant network since October 2005.

"Even though Emory Healthcare has been a designated Center of Excellence for only two years, there has been dedicated collaboration between Emory clinical and financial representatives which led to early recognition with this esteemed award," says Anderson. "More importantly, this recognition reflects the quality of care our transplant patients experience."
