Emory Public Health Researcher Tackles TB, Bioterrorism at Microbiology Meeting
Ruth Berkelman, MD, Emory University Rollins School of Public Health professor of epidemiology, director of the Emory Center for Public Health Preparedness and Research and former deputy director of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) National Center for Infectious Diseases

On Tuesday, May 22, Dr. Berkelman will offer strategies for combating drug-resistant strains of tuberculosis (TB) as part of a public health policy panel convened in Toronto for the annual meeting of the American Society for Microbiology. On May 24, she will moderate a panel discussion on new recommendations and government policies addressing bioterrorism and other potential public health threats. Panels on both dates are scheduled from 2:30 to 5 p.m.
