Emory Healthcare Ad Campaign Highlights Top Health Care Advancements
Beginning July 20, former "Chicago Hope" neurosurgeon Adam Arkin will once again be seen and heard on TV and radio stations across Georgia, although this time he won't be playing a doctor. This time he's the voice and face behind an exciting ad campaign promoting some of the top health care advances in the state.

The television campaign focuses on cardiology at Emory Crawford Long Hospital in Midtown Atlanta and cancer and neurosciences at Emory University Hospital. The television spots will air on WSB-TV and WXIA-TV in Atlanta during the local and national morning and evening news. They will also air on local cable stations in Bibb, Chatham, Dougherty, Muscogee, and Richmond counties in August and September.

In addition, Emory Healthcare, the largest health care provider in Georgia, is beginning a radio campaign focusing on cardiology at Emory Crawford Long Hospital, the Emory Orthopaedic and Spine Center, and Emory's Winship Cancer Institute. The radio spots will be heard on WABE-90.1 FM, WSB-98.5 FM, WZGC-92.9 FM, WSTR-94.1 FM, WLTM-94.9 FM, WJZZ-107.5 FM, and WSB-750 AM through October.

Emory Healthcare's research shows that many people are not aware that Emory Crawford Long Hospital is part of the world-renowned Emory Healthcare. "Emory has a rich history in cardiology and is known as a national leader in heart and heart surgery," says Una Newman, senior director of marketing, Emory Healthcare. "What many people don't realize is that Emory Crawford Long Hospital is a vital part of this rich history. Cutting edge cardiac procedures are performed daily at Emory Crawford Long, by Emory University's top physicians."

The campaign is also designed to build awareness of neuroscience and cancer advancements at Emory University Hospital and Emory's Winship Cancer Institute. "A diagnosis of cancer or a brain aneurysm is one of the scariest moments in someone's life," says Mrs. Newman. "At Emory, we have teams of experts who dedicate their lives to healing and giving hope through the latest advancements in technology and ongoing research."

The campaign is the largest in Emory Healthcare's history. "At Emory Crawford Long Hospital and Emory University Hospital, some of the world's most advanced health care procedures are available right here in Atlanta," says John T. Fox, chief executive officer, Emory Healthcare. "We are very excited that through this campaign, we are able to emphasize our goals of advancing the possibilities of medicine, and ultimately, of making people healthy, and also to emphasize there are two main hospitals and key parts of 'Emory,' the five-letter brand that defines our healthcare system."

Out of Atlanta, Radio Outhouse was responsible for the creative and was the media buyer, and AcousTech Music Productions edited the radio spots. A crew from Thomas Winter Cooke, out of Santa Monica, Ca., filmed the TV commercials, and FilmCore, out of New York City, edited them.
