EmTech Biotechnology Development, Inc., the biotech incubator jointly operated by Emory University and the Georgia Institute of Technology, has announced its seed grant funding for 2005-2006. The seed grant program, supported by contributions from both institutions, funds one-year projects at Emory, Georgia Tech, or joint projects involving both. Emphasis is on research with the potential for tangible commercial applications.
Newly funded projects include the following:
Development of a small molecule drug against CXCR4 for the inhibition of cancer metastasis

Development of calpain inhibitors for treatment of peripheral neuropathy
