Georgia Nurses Foundation Elects Emory Nursing Professor as New President
The Georgia Nurses Foundation (GNF) elected Lynda Nauright, EdD, RN, and professor at Emory University's Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing, as its new president at the 97th annual convention held recently in Athens, Georgia.

A related entity to the Georgia Nursing Association (GNA), the Georgia Nurses Foundation is a non-profit, philanthropic organization focused on support of the profession and health of Georgians. Dr. Nauright will assume the President's role of the Foundation at the end of this year, in her second turn at leading the organization, having previously served as president from 1986-1990.

"I am honored to be elected to serve as President of GNF. I look forward to working with the Foundation as we address crucial issues confronting nursing in Georgia," says Dr. Nauright.

GNF's mission, fulfilled through service, education, and research, is to foster nursing's role in the improvement of the health, well-being and quality of life of Georgia's citizens through philanthropy.

A School of Nursing professor at Emory since 1978, Dr. Nauright teaches classes in leadership, management, program design and evaluation, human resource development and entrepreneurship. Her research endeavors have included studies on hospital information systems, work environment and tele-nursing. Throughout her 35-year nursing career, she has contributed to the science of nursing related to information systems, international nursing, conflict resolution and the image of nursing.
