Emory Center for Respiratory Health
At the Emory Center for Respiratory Health, discoveries are creating new ways to predict and prevent illness and highlighting public policy issues related to lung disease.
Clinical research programs focus on lung fibrosis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, pulmonary hypertension and asthma. Other examples of diseases under investigation include the genetic disorder, cystic fibrosis, and sleep-related breathing disorders such as sleep apnea.
In the laboratory, the Center's scientists examine epithelial cell biology and how genetic markers and other indicators predict respiratory health.
