Emory Winship Cancer Institute

At the Emory Winship Cancer Institute, patients receive state-of-the-art therapies while scientists in the same building explore the frontiers of molecular biology.

More than 200 faculty members are engaged in moving discoveries from the benchtop to the bedside. Their work encompasses cancer prevention, oncology, pediatric oncology, molecular therapy, immunology and cancer genetics.

Highlights

Emory University’s Winship Cancer Institute has earned the coveted National Cancer Institute Cancer Center designation. Winship is the first medical facility in Georgia to earn this distinction.


Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Georgia named Winship Cancer Institute as a Blue Distinction Center for Complex and Rare Cancers in the summer of 2008.


In 2009 the Avon Foundation awarded $750,000 to the Emory Winship Cancer Institute and the Avon Comprehensive Breast Center at Grady Memorial Hospital.
