Dian Evans and Amy Dorrill Selected to Participate in Emory Leadership Programs

Dian Evans Sandra Dunbar

Clinical Assistant Professor Dian Evans (pictured left) has been named a Fellow to the 2011 Woodruff Leadership Academy (WLA) Class. Established in 2003, the WLA combines a program of classroom sessions, off-site team projects, and weekend retreats to motivate professionals and managers within the Robert W. Woodruff Health Sciences Center to develop, exercise, and strengthen individual leadership potential. Evans was selected from approximately 100 nominations that were reviewed for the 24-26 available slots in the 2011 WLA Class.

Evans is the specialty coordinator for the Emergency Nurse Practitioner program. She completed her PhD in nursing in 2009 at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, with a focus in complementary and alternative methodologies research.

Amy Dorrill (pictured right), associate dean for development and alumni relations, was selected to participate in the Excellence Through Leadership (ETL) Program. Through collaboration with Human Resources and the Goizueta School of Business, the ETL program is designed to provide development for Emory’s leaders. The goals of this program include strengthening academic leadership performance across the University and establishing a leadership pipeline for succession planning.

Dorrill manages the school’s $20 million fundraising campaign and alumni relations. She is a Certified Fund Raising Executive and a Certified Grants Specialist. In 2005, she was named one of Georgia Trends “40 Under 40.”
