Twitter is a micro-blogging service in operation for about two years and recently seeing a massive surge in popularity. The service is based on the idea that a web of valuable information and connections can be sustained via a "collective brain," as thousands, millions of users exchange information via 140-character-maximum messages. It's not just individuals using Twitter either, but colleges, universities, corporations, governmente agencies, health centers (like us) and many more groups.
