Mr. Douglas Ivester is President of Deer Run Investments, LLC. He also serves as consultant to The Coca-Cola Company, following his tenure as the tenth chair of the board and CEO of the company from 1997 to 2000. He had joined Coca-Cola in 1979 as assistant controller and director of corporate auditing, then became the youngest vice president in the company's history in 1981. In 1985, he was elected chief financial officer.

Born in New Holland, Georgia, Mr. Ivester graduated cum laude from the University of Georgia with a BBA, then joined the Atlanta office of Ernst and Ernst, leading its team for The Coca-Cola Company.

Elected to the Emory Board of Trustees in 1998, he is also a member of the boards of directors of Georgia-Pacific; S1 Corporation, SunTrust Bank, Atlanta; and SunTrust Banks of Georgia. A former managing trustee of the University of Georgia Foundation, he is a member of the Morehouse College and Brenau University boards of trustees and serves on the board of directors of the High Museum of Art.
