Help Our Students Travel
Join the Emory School of Medicine HOST Program

From November through January, more than 130 Emory medical students will be competing for some of the best residency spots in the nation, and many of them will interview with ten or more programs. You can imagine how quickly the expenses for these trips will add up. As a member of the Emory medical alumni community, you can help alleviate this financial burden for our medical students.

Help Our Students Travel (HOST) is a program sponsored by the Emory Medical Alumni Association designed to reduce students’ residency travel expenses and connect alumni and students throughout the country. Alumni volunteers provide students with a free place to stay as well as offer invaluable advice about residency training, the prospective medical center and community in which they are interviewing.

As a volunteer alumni host, this program promises you much in return. You will learn firsthand about the Emory School of Medicine today, our new building and new curriculum, and changes on campus. Also, you will have the opportunity to renew your personal sense of pride as it is reflected in these outstanding students who have met the challenges of a highly demanding medical program.

If you are interested in participating in our HOST program, please click the appropriate link below to complete a survey. Please direct questions to Lisa Tillman in the alumni office - 404.727.5933 or lisa.tillman@emory.edu.

Help us "Connect the Docs"
Each year, more than 110 fourth-year medical students prepare to graduate from Emory School of Medicine and move on to begin residency training programs across the country. Many interview then move to cities and regions that are new to them. With a large network of Emory medical school alumni around the nation – some 13,000 strong – we seek to bring this network together by connecting our students and future alumni with those who are more established in these communities. Click here to see a full list of institutions where our students will train. If you are willing to serve as resources to one or more students as they visit cities for interviews, prepare for their moves and settle in their new home towns, please download, complete and return an information form, or contact us at medicalalumni@emory.edu.
