Neurologist
Michael Frankel Appointed Vice President of American Heart Association's
Southeastern Affiliate
Michael R. Frankel,
M.D., associate professor of neurology at the Emory University School
of Medicine and chief of neurology at Grady Memorial Hospital, has been
appointed vice president of the southeastern affiliate of the American
Heart Association. As part of his three-year term, Frankel will serve
as vice president, president-elect, and finally as president in 2004.
The southeastern affiliate consists of Georgia, Tennessee, Louisiana,
Alabama, and Louisiana.
During his term in office,
Frankel will help orchestrate the activities of the American Heart Association
and the American Stroke Association in their mission to fight heart
disease and stroke.
Dr. Frankel has played an
integral role in establishing Operation Stroke For Atlanta, a multi-organizational
group focusing on educating health professionals and the community about
stroke.
