The physician heading the Emory University component of the largest ever study of women's health will present a free lecture on "Women's Health Issues" at 6 p.m., April 21, at the Decatur Library, 215 Sycamore St., downtown Decatur.

Sally McNagny, M.D., is interested in increasing medical knowledge of how diseases affect women -- and in teaching women how they may equip themselves with knowledge that will optimize their health and quality of life. Osteoporosis, heart disease and breast cancer will be among the topics discussed.

Dr. McNagny is assisant professor of Medicine at the Emory University School of Medicine and is principal investigator of the Emory component of the Women's Health Initiative. She will share with lecture attendees opportunities for participating in the observational phase of the federal study.
