WHAT:
Martin Luther King Week Activities at the Rollins School of Public Health, Emory University. This year's theme is NONVIOLENCE: CREATING A SOCIAL NORM -- A FOCUS ON MENTAL HEALTH.


WHEN:
Thursday, Jan. 23, 1997



    11 a.m.-2:30 p.m. INTERACTIVE DISPLAY featuring booths manned by representatives of Atlanta organizations ranging from those who address the adverse mental health effects resulting from violence victimization, to some which promote nonviolence through assistance to and advocacy for the mentally ill.

    11 a.m.-2:30 p.m. FILM SERIES about mental health will go on next door to the Interactive Display.

    4 p.m. AWARDS CEREMONY recognizing recipients of the 1997 Martin Luther King Community Service Award, presented by the Rollins School of Public Health to those whom the awards committee considers "front-line heroes and heroines whose efforts make our community less violent, but who often go unrecognized."
